Egyptian Judge Bans Hamas Activities in Egypt

Reuters – Associated Press – Agencies – An Egyptian court on Tuesday banned all activities of the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in Egypt.
“The court has ordered the banning of Hamas work and activities in Egypt,” a judge – who asked to remain anonymous – said, according to Reuters news agency.
Hamas is a supporter of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, which has been declared a terrorist group by Egypt’s army-backed government and has faced a security crackdown since the military ousted one of its leaders, Mohammad Mursi, from the presidency last July.
Ties between Cairo and Hamas, the Palestinian affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood, flourished during Morsi’s year in power but have deteriorated since the military coup on July 3 2013.
Cairo’s new military-installed authorities were furious after Hamas officials openly criticized their decision to outlaw the Muslim Brotherhood, the target of a deadly crackdown since Morsi’s ouster.
Amnesty International says more than 1,400 people have been killed in street clashes, mostly supporters of Morsi, since his overthrow.
Hamas condemned the ruling, saying it targeted the Palestinian cause.

“The decision harms the image of Egypt and its role towards the Palestinian cause. It reflects a form of standing against Palestinian resistance,” Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for the Gaza-based militant organization said.
The Palestinian Islamist movement governing Gaza added that the decision “serves” it’s enemy Israel, according to Agence France-Presse.
“Any decision such as this is an attempt to besiege the resistance, and serves the Israeli occupation,” Bassem Naim, a senior official in Hamas said.
Egyptian authorities see Hamas a major security threat, accusing the group of supporting al-Qaeda-inspired Islamist insurgents in the Sinai peninsula, allegations it denies.
The court also ordered the closure of Hamas offices in Egypt, one of the judges overseeing the case said.
The case was filed by a group of Egyptian lawyers last year asking for Hamas to be banned and be designated as a terrorist organization.
Egyptian troops have destroyed hundreds of smuggling tunnels under the border with Gaza used to supply the Palestinian enclave with fuel and construction materials due to Israeli restrictions.
Hamas has denied accusations by Egyptian officials that it is involved in fighting in the Sinai Peninsula, where militant attacks on security forces have surged since July.

A report about the aggressions of the PA’s security agencies – AOHR UK – At the time when Palestinians are living disastrous circumstances caused by the aggressions of the Israeli occupation which affected everything including holy places, security agencies of the Palestinian Authority practice arbitrary actions against Palestinian citizens in the West Bank. It carries out organized detentions and interrogations. It also sacks citizens from their jobs.

These actions undermine the rights of the Palestinians and strike their immunity in front of the continuous aggressions of the Israeli occupation and its sellers.

Beside the already corrupted administrations of the Palestinian Authority, such actions have swamped the Palestinians in dire economic circumstances. Thus they became busy in protests and demonstrations against prices’ hikes in order to improve standards of their livelihood. Looking after their economic problems, less attention is being given to the Israeli harms on the Palestinian issue. This strange situation has never existed during the time of the Israeli occupation before Oslo agreement.

To shed the light on the sufferings of the Palestinians, the Arab Organization for Human Rights in UK issued this report. It exposes to the public the inhumane practices of the security agencies of the Palestinian Authority which keep up with the Israeli aggressions. This is also to contribute to strengthening the human rights front in the Palestinian territories and to enable the Palestinians to encounter the Israeli violations throughout holding inciters against their rights accountability for their actions.

This report covers the period January to July 2012 during which AOHR monitored political detentions, summonses, torture, degrading treatment and employment dismissals affecting men and women. The research was based on information derived from the victims who were detained, their families, eye-witnesses and some NGOs. It also relied on reports issued by the US Congress and documents issued by the European Union Police Mission which show the amount of financial aid provided to Palestinian Authority security agencies. A sample of 300 detainees was asked questions about their detention by the PA as well as by the Israelis; the impact of detention on their lives; and the impact on the Palestinian issue. In order to reveal the extent of the catastrophe, it was necessary to place research outcomes in the context of violations by Palestinian Authority security bodies over the past five years.



The data collected from June 2007 to the end of 2011 indicates that PA security forces detained 13,271 Palestinian citizens, 96 per cent of whom were subjected to various methods of torture resulting in the killing of six detainees and causing chronic illness in others. Ninety-nine per cent of the detainees had experienced detention by the Israelis after which they were also detained by the PA on the same charges. In the same period the Israeli army carried out detention campaigns and raids resulting in thousands of Palestinians being detained; 9,765 according to official statistics, most of whom had also been detained by the PA in the past. They were generally charged based on confessions extracted under torture by PA security officers.

Since the beginning of 2011 the PA is supposed to have eased political detentions and ended systematic torture, but the data collected in 2012 suggests that that has not been the case. A campaign of summons and detentions has taken place. Most of the detainees had already been detained by PA and Israeli security agencies for prolonged periods. The detainees complain that these moves paralyse their lives, disrupt family life and create great psychological suffering. This, they say, amounts to systematic torture.

Between January and July 2012, PA security agencies detained 572 citizens and summonsed 770 more, among them women and old people, who were often forced to wait from early morning to the evening before being “interviewed”. Some were “summonsed” daily for weeks on end, while others were kept under virtual house arrest. The period also witnessed raids against universities, hospitals and houses in order to arrest people wanted for protesting against the Israeli occupation. The PA officers confiscated equipment and personal cash, which often went missing after the searches.

There were also cases of severe torture, and instances where victims were kicked, punched, sworn at and subjected to other degrading treatment. This suggests that systematic torture may have ceased only because there is no one left to do it to.

The exact number of detainees in PA prisons is unknown; it fluctuates between 40 and 85 detainee, depending on the campaign. The various PA security agencies have about 43 centres at their disposal, ranging from the Central Prison to detention stations.

Security tactics include the dismissal of employees from their jobs as a form of harassment. At least 73 people were made unemployed in the period under review, and it is estimated that around 3,200 have faced the same injustice since 2005. Harassment also includes students with “security records” being unable to find employment, acquire a driving licence or open a business.

Naturally, the Israelis are not entirely absent from this scenario, as the PA’s activities are routinely carried out following full coordination with the occupation authorities. In the same period, the Israelis detained about 1,300 Palestinians, 30 per cent of them children. Jerusalem and Hebron saw the most detention operations, with 550 citizens detained in Hebron and 80 children in Jerusalem. It’s worth noting that detentions and summons executed by the PA security agencies surpassed those by the Israelis.

The sample study from our research clarifies the extent of violations against Palestinian citizens and highlights the scale of suffering caused interchangeably by security agencies affiliated to the PA and the Israeli occupation forces. In response to the question, “Have you been detained before by the occupation?” 98 per cent answered yes; 59.7 per cent of the sample clarified that Israeli courts charged them based on information provided by PA security agencies, while 99.7 per cent believed that their detention was carried out in coordination with the occupation authorities.

The data collected also shows that 51 per cent of the detainees or those who were summonsed fall within the 25-59 age range. The security agencies appear to have no concern for the age or gender of those who are being detained or summonsed. A significant number of the detainees are elderly people aged 60 and above, representing 11.3 per cent of the total; women made up 15.3 per cent. Of the sample, 39.3 per cent are students, 38 per cent of whom confirmed that their studies were interrupted as a result of detention.

The sample revealed a decrease in the percentage of employed people, with 34.7 per cent saying that they still work in private employment, while 12.7 per cent of those surveyed said they lost their jobs on account of decisions taken by the security agencies.

Some of those surveyed indicated that they were detained during the research period for periods of one day to a week; they represent 71 per cent. Regarding respect for judicial decisions, 9 per cent of the detainees affirmed that the security agencies refused to implement court rulings ordering their discharge. Despite the decision of judges not to refer them to military courts, the statistics show that 5.3 per cent of those surveyed were eventually brought before such courts.

In the same vein, it was revealed that the PA security agencies practice systematic torture of all kinds, with 99.7 per cent of those questioned claiming that they were exposed to degrading treatment; 18.7 per cent experienced severe torture compared to 99 per cent of the sample who stated that they were tortured in previous years by the Palestinian Authority.

With regards to the effect of detention on the lives of the detainees, 60 per cent of those in the study explained that they now suffer from chronic diseases due to torture and the poor conditions in which they were held in detention. On another level, 60 per cent confirmed that repeated or extensive detention reduced them to a state of acute poverty.

Despite the grave human rights violations by the PA security agencies, they continue to enjoyed enormous support from the US and EU.

According to the documents which were obtained, the US has since 2007 provided generous assistance estimated at $658.4 million. For the coming financial year of 2013, the Obama administration has demanded an additional $70 million. The US also undertook to train 6,000 personnel. Thus far, eight battalions have been trained, each one consisting of 500 officers. As for the EU, it has allocated through the European Union Police Mission an estimated $9 million for training the PA police and development of the criminal justice department. Around 7,500 police officers have already been trained.

It is staggering that the PA should, in the shadow of the Arab Spring, cultivate its own system of impunity, in total defiance of its people’s demands for freedom and dignity. They seem to be oblivious of the factors which led to the downfall of the tyrannical regimes across the region. There is absolutely no justification for its acceptance of becoming a sub-contracted security instrument of the Israeli occupation,

crushing at every opportunity the legitimate aspirations of their people for freedom and self-determination.

The PA’s human rights violations against the Palestinian people have amplified their suffering under the Israelis and undermined their national immunity and struggle for self-determination. It is clearly obvious that the PA hasn’t learnt from its experiences with the Israelis or from the uprisings in the Arab lands. On the contrary, it remains firmly committed to its campaign of detention and destroying national solidarity while serving foreign agendas which strike the Palestinian national freedom project at its core.

As the Palestinian Authority has got an observer status in the UN, it is necessary for its leaders to be obligated by the international laws and conventions which protect human rights in the times of war and peace. The state which comes out from under the occupation must be set up on true bases built on the rights of the Palestinian citizen to life and freedom.

After the latest aggressive war against the Gaza strip, the Arabic Organisation for Human Rights in UK expected that all forms of security cooperation between the PA and the Israelis to be stopped. It also expected that political detention and summons to be halted, too. Unfortunately, this has not happen as during the war many Palestinians were detained despite the wide scale solidarity action against the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

AOHR blames complete responsibility for these human rights violations on the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas. However, such violations are classified as dangerous breaches for the Fourth Geneva Convention which protects the rights of citizens under the occupation.

For an urgent action, AOHR call for the Secretary Generals of the UN, Arab League and the Islamic Cooperation Organisation to practice pressure in Mahmoud Abbas in order to stop all kinds of political detention as that it harms the interests of the whole Palestinians.

An earlier reports was released which states that Dahlan, the traitor, stands behind a number of terrorist and sabotage operations which have targeted the Egyptian army in the Sinai near the Gaza Strip, in coordination with the Egyptian police and in favour of Israel. Dahlan and his partners in the Egyptian police are planning to strike Gaza and crush Hamas so that ultimately Dahlan, Abbas, PA will be able to take control over the strip.

Egyptian forces have tightened the control of Rafah, a town that straddles the Egypt-Gaza border, as well as the waters at the border to prevent any transport of merchandise into Gaza by sea. They expelled dozens of families from their houses on the Egyptian side near the Rafah border in the context of the implementation of an empty zone along the border with Gaza. Egyptian official said that they had destroyed over 350 smuggling tunnels since the army had deposed Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in early July of this year.

Residents on the Egyptian side of the border said that at least 20 homes had been torn down.

Egyptian forces have tightened the control of Rafah, a town that straddles the Egypt-Gaza border, as well as the waters at the border to prevent any transport of merchandise into Gaza by sea. They expelled dozens of families from their houses on the Egyptian side near the Rafah border in the context of the implementation of an empty zone along the border with Gaza. Egyptian official said that they had destroyed over 350 smuggling tunnels since the army had deposed Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in early July of this year.

Hamas spokesman said: “We reject idea of buffer zone. Buffer zones should not be built between brothers”.

The crackdown, before and after Morsi’s ouster, has included closures of tunnels from Gaza the military believes have been used to move weapons, gunmen and goods across the border.

Now, residents on the Egyptian side of the border say, the armed forces have also begun to tear down homes, apparently suspecting they are being used to hide tunnel entrances or provide cover for other militant activity.

Israel Kill Three Palestinians in Coordination With PA

فرقة موت صهيونية تقتل ثلاثة فلسطينيين بالتنسيق مع السلطة الفلسطينية

Israeli death squads of the so-called border police operating under cover, reportedly dressing in women clothes, killed three Palestinians in the Qalandia Refugee camp near Ramallah and left another 19 persons injured in an operation which led to the arrest of dozens of political activists. The death squad operation was coordinated with the so-called Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces and was directed against some political activists from Hamas who had been released by the Zionist regime during the Gilad Shalit exchange.

PA intelligence personnel and militia have arrested several hundred Hamas elements in the occupied West Bank during the past days, following the Egyptian military coup. The PA also banned demonstration or rallies against the military coup and in solidarity with ousted Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi in the small cantons under its nominal control in the occupied West Bank.

The PA has used excessive force and other methods of state terrorism to disperse the large number of protesters attending demos in Ramallah and Hebron. Last Friday many journalists were beaten up, their equipment damaged, and the films, tapes and storage devices removed from photo and video cameras in order to hide the brutality of how the soldiers are dealing with civilians during peaceful demonstrations, civilians who want to express their opinion in marches and other legitimate shows of dissent.

On the other hand, in the context of the recent series of political arrests, the PA has entrusted the arrest of a number of Palestinian political leaders and activists to the zionist occupation forces in order to avoid criticism from the Palestinian population when its own repressive elements arrest them.

Early today morning, at round 5:30 AM and with full knowledge of the PA, the israeli death squads operating “undercover” entered the refuge camp of Qalandia and arrested several well-known Palestinian opposition figures. Palestinian youths of the area protested against the filthy coordinated mission between of israeli soldiers and PA elements. As usual for such occasions, they hurled insults and threw stones at the zionists death squads.

A detachment of the IDF Artillery Corps was stationed nearby providing additional cover for the death squad unit. When the protests of the Qalandia youths nearby started, they were alerted and started shooting everywhere. The result was that three Palestinians were killed and 19 injured. All this in order to protect the death squad unit frompretty much defenseless youths.

The three victims are Robin al-Abed, 32, who was shot in the chest and died instantly according to; Younis Jihad Abu al-Sheikh Jahjouh, 22, who was also shot dead, and Jihad Asslan, 20, who died Monday morning from his injuries after being pronounced brain dead at a Ramallah hospital. It was later said that among those who were arrested by the israelis was a Palestinian man who had been released from an israeli prison just a month ago.

The PA, which had been involved in coordinating this “under cover “ operation with the IDF, was forced to condemn the murder of the three Palestinians in public in order to deflect the huge anger which broke out as a consequence of the operation. PA officials even went so far as to claim that they has “canceled” the so-called “peace talks” which were planned for Monday in Jericho.

This is a funny as moot pretense because of course all Palestinians know that the PA “condemnation” and its “decisions” are worth null, as the PA itself is nothing more than a puppet of the American-zionist project in Palestine. The PA should never forget that they are group of criminals who have taken over the dirty work of the occupation and enthroned by their masters as the current dictator regime in Palestine. And their masters will discard them like an old magazine when their usefulness is over.

Later, the US State Department on Monday denied reports that a round of US-brokered peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians had been canceled following clashes in the Qalandia of the West Bank. “I can assure you that no meetings have been canceled,” State Department spokeswoman Mari Harf told Reuters. “The parties are engaged in serious and sustained negotiations,” she said.

Earlier Monday, a senior Palestinian official stated that the Palestinian envoys to the peace talks canceled a meeting with their Israeli counterparts.The report in Arabic is below

ونفذت في الصباح الباكر من اليوم، الساعة 5:30 صباحا فرقة الموت الإسرائيلية من “المستعربين” مهمة ما تم الأتفاق عليه بينها وبين رجال “الأمن” في سلطة عباس

ودخلت قوات المستعربين مخيم قلنديا واعتقلت عددا من الشخصيات المعارضة للفلسطينية. الأمر الذي أدى إلى انفجار غضب سكان المخيم ورشقهم لقوات المستعربين بالحجارة الأمر الذيب أدى إلى تدخل ما يسمى بقوات فيلق المدفعية الإسرائيلية التي كانت تتوقف على مقربة من المكان لتوفير غطاء امني لقوات المستعربين

وفتحت قوات فيلق المدفعية الصهيونية نيران أسلحتها الموت على الشبان في قلنديا. وكانت النتيجة إستشهاد ثلاثة فلسطينيين وأصابة 19 آخرين وصفت إصابات أربعة منهم بالخطيرة

 والضحايا الثلاثة هم: روبين فارس (32 عاما)، ويونس جحجوح (22 عاما) وجهاد اصلان (19 عاما) استشهدوا صباح اليوم جراء اصابتهم برصاص الوحدات الخاصة وجنود الاحتلال في مخيم قلنديا

وذهب عدد من مسؤولي السلطة الفلسطينية إلى حد الزعم بأنهم قد عملوا على “إلغاء” ما يسمى بلقاء “محادثات السلام” التي كان مخططا لها اليوم الاثنين في أريحا

في وقت لاحق، نفت وزارة الخارجية الامريكية يوم الاثنين تقارير تفيد بأن السلطة الفلسطينية ألغت جولة من المحادثات مع إسرائيل في أعقاب اشتباكات وقعت في مخيم قلنديا في الضفة الغربية, وقالت بان جولة المباحثات تمت بين الجانبين دون تأخير

تنسيق أمني والسلطة الفلسطينية تبحث عن راشقي الحجارة وتعتقل عددا منهم

العملية العسكرية الصهيونية التي تمت بالتنسيق مع قادة الأجهزة الأمنية في السلطة الفلسطينية ممن يديرون ما يسمى ب “مكاتب الإرتباط العسكري” (دي سي أو), وهي مكاتب  للتجسس تنتشر في مدن الضفة الغربية, وتعمل لصالح جهاز المخابرات الصهيوني “شاباك”, والتي ذهب ضحيتها ثلاثة شبان من مخيم قلنديا وإصابة آخرين, كانت موجهة ضد بعض الناشطين السياسيين ممن تعتقد السلطة الفلسطينية أنهم من العناصر الموالية لحركة حماس, وافرجت عن أحدهم قبل ذلك قوات النظام الصهيوني خلال صفقة “شاليط” لتبادل الأسرى بين إسرائيل وحركة حماس, وقد أرتأت  السلطة الفلسطينية التخلص منهم وتسلميهم ثانية لإسرائيل عن طريق إعادة إعتقالهم مرة ثانية

وكانت المخابرات الفلسطينية وميليشيا “عباس الأمنية” قد اعتقلت خلال الأيام الماضية المئات من عناصر حركة حماس في الضفة الغربية المحتلة, في أعقاب الانقلاب العسكري المصري الذي أطاح بالرئيس المنتخب محمد مرسي, وبدأ مفاوضات عبثية مع الجانب الصهيوني, تسمى ب “محادثات السلام”, وذلك في أكبر عملية إعتقال شنتها السلطة منذ عام 2006

كما حظرت سلطة “عباس” في الجيوب الصغيرة الواقعة تحت سيطرتها الاسمية في الضفة الغربية المحتلة, التظاهر ضد الانقلاب العسكري في مصر والتضامن مع الرئيس المخلوع مرسي

من ناحية أخرى، وفي سياق السلسلة الأخيرة من الاعتقالات السياسية التي نفذتها السلطة الفلسطينية فقد أوكلت سلطة “عباس” إلى نظرائها في جيش الأحتلال مهمة اعتقال عدد من القادة السياسيين الفلسطينيين والنشطاء من أجل تجنب انتقادات السكان لها أثناء إعتقالهم

واضطرت السلطة الفلسطينية، التي دأبت على المشاركة فيما يسمى ب “عمليات التنسيق الأمني” مع جيش الأحتلال الصهيوني, وهي عمليات مشبوهة ويرفضها الشعب الفلسطيني  لإدانة قتل الفلسطينيين الثلاثة في الأماكن العامة من أجل تشتيت موجة الغضب العارم التي اندلعت نتيجة للعملية الأرهابية

President Abbas Running Smear Campaign Against Hamas In Egypt

During a press conference held today July 30 2013 in Gaza, Hamas leader Salah Al-Bardaweel released documents which show that PA President Abbas together with the head of the Palestinian intelligence Majed Faraj, the head of the preventive security Ziyad Hab Al-Rih, the director of the Palestinian intelligence in the southern occupied territories Jamal Hassoune, the Secretary General of the Palestinian Presidency Office Tayeb Abed Al-Rahim, the Palestinian Embassy in Egypt and some Fatah leaders are involved in a hostile campaign running anti-Hamas propaganda in Egypt.

According to Al-Bardaweel, Abbas and his security officers are fabricating news and spreading them in the Egyptian media. According to him, the PA hostile media campaign against Hamas has the goal to implicate the Hamas leaders in Gaza in security issues in Egypt, for example implicating Hamas in killing and kidnapping Egyptian soldiers, participating in the fighting in Sinai, saying that they are involved with the Salafist groups, that they support the Muslim Brotherhood and are supposedly sending 500 “soldiers” to fight with them.  

During the last months, the Egyptian’s media has accused Hamas of interfering in the internal affairs of Egypt. Egyptian journalists have reported that Hamas had dispatched gunmen to Sinai and other parts of Egypt to kill civilians and soldiers. Other reports have claimed that the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood fled to the Gaza Strip following the ousting of President Mohamed Morsi.

The documents presented at the press conference include correspondence between the PLO Embassy in Cairo and representatives of the two Fatah-dominated security services. In one document, the Palestinian security services instruct the PLO’s media attaché in Cairo, Jihad al- Harazeen, to play a major role in feeding Egyptian journalists and media outlets with fabricated stories about Hamas’s alleged involvement in undermining Egypt’s security and stability.

Another Hamas official claimed that “Mohammed Dahlan”, Fatah leader who fled the Gaza Strip to Egypt in 2007, after Hamas took over the Strip and his bussnis partner “Khaled Salam”, former economic advisor of the deceased Palestinian President “Ysser Arafat” (both own several economic projects in Egypt) also involved in feeding the Egyptian media with “lies and fabrications” concerning Hamas’s alleged involvement in terrorist attacks against Egyptians.
