Does Israel know that the mossad offers free lessons in international organized terror and crimes to all rebels and radical movements, and that through their terror actions they are teaching them how to kidnap and murder Israelis in retaliation for the operations carried out by Israel in several countries of the world?

A series of terrorist operations have been carried out by Israel throughout the world alongside the israeli occupation crimes against the Palestinians which have lasted for over 63 years. The Israeli crimes in the Western world and the violation of the sovereignty and borders of other countries all pass in the silence of the world, the Security Council and the International community, exactly as if everyone is deaf, blind and dumb whenever Israel commits a new crime and terror.

To illustrate the Israeli terrorism, I present the following summary of some crimes and terror that were recently perpetrated by Israel in Western countries. The crimes were perpetrated under silence from the international and global World. The summary is followed by questions that need answers and clarifications from the Security Council and the governments that claim to be fighting against terrorism and International Organized Crimes. The questions are also addressed to the International public, the people who represent the future in their countries. It is also addressed to everyone who seeks the truth without deception or evasion. To these people who are interested in knowing the truth I would suggest that they submit these questions to their governments first, and secondly to the Israeli embassies in their countries.

Lesson of Terror & Organized Crime in Sudan: On Tuesday April 5, 2011, the Sudanese government filed a complaint against Israel with the United Nations Security Council over the airstrike near the Port of Sudan which killed two people who were in a car. According to Sudanese sources, a foreign aircraft entered the African nation’s airspace from the Red Sea. In January 2009, Israeli aircraft hit a convoy of what they claimed were “arms smugglers” headed for Gaza.

Lesson of Organized Crime in Georgia: On April 1, 2011, Georgia sentenced two Israelis to jail, Ron Fuchs (פוקס רון) for seven years, and Zeev Frenkel (פרנקל זאב) for six and a half years, for bribing the Georgian deputy finance minister with seven million dollars. Ron and Zeef met with the deputy minister and offered him a bribe in exchange for convincing the government ministers not to oppose the results of the arbitration process in which Ron and Zeev were awarded nearly $100 million, but the Georgian government challenged the decision and did not transfer the money to the Israeli businessmen.

Lesson of Terror & Organized Crime in Ukraine: On 18, February 2011, the Israeli intelligence service mossad abducted in Ukraine Dr. Dirar Abu-Sisi. 42 years, the director of the Gaza power plant. The Ukrainian security services aided in the abduction operation and were conniving with the mossad. On Monday April 4, 2011, Abu Sisi was charged with being a “close confidant of the Hamas military leaders and instrumental in developing their rockets, including increasing their range and ability to pierce steel so as to penetrate armored vehicles and thus strike at soldiers”.

Engineer Abu Sisi is not a war criminal or a terrorist. In my opinion he is one of the victims of Israel. Far more likely than him taking part in activities related to weapons is that he simply was abducted in order to hinder provision of electric energy to the Gaza strip, an act of collective punishment against the population of the Gaza strip. The real war criminals and terrorists are the mossad agents who kidnapped the engineer, drugged him, transported him to Tel Aviv and subjected him to all kind of torture to extract confessions in illegal and immoral ways. The affiliation of Abu Sissi to Hamas is not a crime which warrants putting him in prison. In 2006 more than half of Palestinians in the occupied territories, in the West Bank and Gaza voted for Hamas during the Legislative Council elections. This does not mean that those Palestinians belong to a terrorist organization and therefore should be arrested and imprisoned.

Abu Sisi strongly denied in court the Israeli allegation and charges of developing the missiles of Hamas. His denial came even after he was severely tortured at the hands of Israeli interrogators. In Israel there are thousands of Israeli engineers and war criminals who are working in the arms industry, and they develop advanced missiles and aircraft which are capable of destruction of the entire Middle East, not a tank!!

Furthermore, the Israelis war criminal experts developed more than 300 nuclear warheads at Dimona in “the Negev”, (al-Naqab). These missiles can kill millions of human beings in one second. Palestine suffers a significant risk of radiation because of Israel’s possession of nuclear reactors including the Dimona reactor, which has ended its useful life, and which will expose Palestine and the Palestinian people and neighboring countries to the serious dangers of radiation. Palestinian farmers from Yatta village south of Hebron in the West Bank have revealed that the Israeli military continues to bury nuclear waste in their farmlands at Al-Masafer near the armistice line in the West Bank.

Israel is a racist terrorist and zionist organization which occupies the Palestinian, Golan heights and Arab lands, and continues committing war crimes and aggression against the Arabs in Lebanon and the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Israel uses internationally prohibited weapons such as white phosphorus and cluster bombs, weighing tons. The sophisticated weapons of Israel are not comparable to the “advanced humble rockets” of Hamas that could be compared to the rockets used in the age of cavemen.

• So who deserves a trial and criminalization, the electrical engineer Abu Sisi who insists on his innocence, or the Israeli generals, the war criminals and terrorists who killed thousands of civilians by dropping sophisticated bombs?

It is unfortunate that the civilized world keeps silent on kidnapping Abu Sissi, who was visiting his brother in a state that considers itself an “independent, civilized State.” The kidnapping of people is not characteristic of civilized nations and States, but it is a characteristic of terrorist states that behave like the mafia.

Whatever justification the Ukrainian government gives for its “help” by allowing the Israeli Mossad to kidnap Abu Sisi and use its country to commit a terrorist crime, the government is involved in the terror crime itself, and the officials of Ukraine must be treated in accordance to the provisions of international law relating to the crimes of international terrorism.

Lesson of Terror & Organized Crime in Emirats: Last year, on January 20, 2010, the mossad assassinated Hamas member Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in the Al-Bustan Rotana hotel in Dubai, and the assassination put dirt on the names of several countries. It is known, but denied by the respective authorities, that the mossad operates freely in the EU and other western countries. The assassination of Mohmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai was not the first International crime which Mossad death squads committed by using the fake or stolen European passports.

The Israeli mossad has long history of desecrating the laws of many European countries, where they have committed many assassinations using fake passports, and sometimes real ones. About 350,000 Israelis have double citizenship and hold EU and Israeli passports at the same time. The zionists of Israel have received logistical support from all the European and Western countries in which the mossad death squads have committed their crimes in the past cases.

Lesson of Terror & Organized Crime in Austria: In the early nineties of the last century, on May 27, 1993, two elements of a mossad kidon unit (death squad) were killed in a motorcycle accident in Vienna while they were on a surveillance mission trailing the Iranian deputy minister of defense at that time, head of Iran’s “chemical warfare project”, Dr. Majid Abasfur, who was in Vienna carrying documents for an impending arms deal with an Israeli partner, Manbar, and a briefcase with money and documents about the missing Israeli air force pilot Ron Arad. The plan of the mossad death squad was to kill Dr. Abasfur, steal the documents and the money, and prevent the signing of the agreement for supplying Iran with tanks and chemical substances, which was supposed to be signed at the Vienna Marriot hotel that day.

Lesson of Terror and Organized Crime in New Zealand: On March 23, 2004, New Zealand authorities captured two Israeli intelligence agents, Uriel Kelman (Urie) and Eli Cara, for trying to obtain a New Zealand passport. On July 15, 2004, they were sentenced to six months and were sent to Mt Eden Prison. The prisoners completed one-third of their six-month sentence in jail, and then were released and deported to Israel in October 2004. Both Kelman and Cara were members of the israeli intelligence service Mossad.

Lesson of Organized Crime in Kosovo: the Council of Europe accused the prime minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, of leading a group linked to organized crime and who is related to human rights violations and arms trafficking, as well as trafficking drugs and bodies. A number of Israelis who were involved in the group are wanted for international crimes in the trafficking of human organs.

Lesson of Terror & Organized Crime in Libya and Africa: Rafael “Rafram” Haddad, 35, is a spy agent from Efrat squatter colony in the West Bank. He is a yeshiva (an extremist religious school) student and resident of the Efrat squatter colony and a military police officer in the Israeli army. He was asked in 2009 by the Jewish Agency, the so called “Orr Shalom”, center to go to places where smaller Jewish communities had existed in Libya and which his predecessors (other Israeli spies) had been unable to reach. The jewish Agency had sent some weeks earlier a French citizen in the same mission in Libya.

Haddad was warned by the Libyan intelligence to stop filming and to leave Libya, but he was caught in the same place a week after he had been warned off. The French jew had been arrested some weeks before the arrest of Haddad. French President Nicolas Sarkozy intervened to release the French citizen. He was released about two weeks after Haddad was arrested, and he informed the family of the Israeli spy Haddad in the Efrat squatter colony about his arrest.

According to the Israeli Hebrew newspapers, another Israeli spy was also arrested in the same mission in northern Africa. It appeared in the newspapers that the “Or Shalom” zionist organization accused the israeli foreign ministry of having leaked the arrest of Haddad in northern Africa, but the foreign ministry said that the leak of this information had come from Haddad’s family.

There are multiple examples to demonstrate the involvement of Israel in international organized crimes and terror, and the questions are:

• Does the Israeli “state” stand at the forefront of International terrorism and organized crimes, leading and financing the abductions, political assassinations, sea piracy, trafficking human organs, arming gangs, death squads, mafia and drugs?

• Who is the next victim listed on the Israeli plan of abduction after Dr. Dirar Abu-Sisi, 42 years, the director of the Gaza power plant who was kidnapped on February 18, 2011, in Ukraine?
• Who is the next victim listed on the Mossad plan of assassination after the International terror assassination of Hamas leader, Mahmoud al-Mabhouh who was murdered on January 20, 2010, in the Al-Bustan Rotana hotel in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates?
• In which state will Israel implement its new crime of terror, and under which names and nationalities will they commit the crime after several European citizens were listed on the Interpol-issued arrest notices as wanted by Dubai for the killing Al-Mabhouh?
• Which is the next European country that will violate international law, allowing and helping mossad agents to commit a new terror crime and murder in their country?
• Which state will have its airspace violated by Israel in order to bomb innocent citizens after Khartoum where the Israeli airstrike carried out its terror operation? Killed two and terrorized how many?
• Which is the next State after the State of Georgia that Israel plans to bribe in order to withdraw a new government project that does not serve the interest of Israel, and how many millions or billions will they pay?
• Which countries are the next targets of Israel where the Israeli Mossad will implant their agents in order to carry out different organized crimes, terror, assassinations, and espionage after dismantling the Israeli Mossad network groups in Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Syria, the largest spy networks known in history?

The following is an overview of each of the Islamist figures who have found their place — in some way, shape or form — at the Obama administration’s table.

Arif Alikahn, Former Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Policy Development: Now a Distinguished Visiting Professor of DHS and Counterterrorism at the National Defense University, Alikahn also served as Deputy Mayor for Public Safety for the City of Los Angeles where he reportedly derailed the LAPD’s efforts to monitor the city’s Muslim community — particularly its radical mosques and madrassas where certain 9/11 hijackers were said to have received support. He is affiliated with MPAC, which has called the terrorist group Hezbollah a “liberation movement.”

Salam al-Marayati, Founder and Executive Director of Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC): Marayati is an Iraqi immigrant who drew national attention over a decade ago when then-House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt nominated him to serve on the National Commission on Terrorism. Backlash over al-Marayati’s defense of Hezbollah and other Islamic groups prompted a withdrawal of the nomination. The Center for Security Policy reports that MPAC was formed in 1986 as the Political Action Committee for the Islamic Center for Southern California, one of the largest Wahhabi mosques in the country. While MPAC later fractioned-off, one of the founders of the Islamic Center, Hassan Hathout, was a senior member of the Muslim Brotherhood who also spent time in Egyptian prison.

Mohamed Elibiary, Homeland Security Advisory Committee Member: He is the former president of the Freedom and Justice Foundation, which was billed to ”promote a Centrist Public Policy environment in Texas by coordinating the state level government and interfaith community relations for the organized Texas Muslim community.” He spoke at a 2004 conference in Dallas praising the “Great Islamic Visionary” Ayatollah Khomeini. Most recently he is famous for leaking highly sensitive intelligence documents to a media outlet in Texas.

Rashad Hussain, State Department Special Envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation: The Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Report uncovered that Hussain spoke at a conference sponsored by the Muslim Brotherhood affiliate, the Association of Muslim Social Scientists. An internal Brotherhood document dubbed the Social Scientists as one of “our organizations and the organizations of our friends.” Hussain also spoke at the Prince Alwaleed Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding of Georgetown University, which reportedly receives Saudi funding and is directed by Muslim Brotherhood advocate, John Esposito. In 2004, Hussain also participated in the Muslim Students Association’s annual conference, a group founded by the Muslim Brotherhood and known as one of its front-groups. The report also asserts that many of the Student Associations’ nearly 600 college chapters “have engaged in extremism and the group closely collaborates with the other Brotherhood fronts.”

Other Brotherhood sympathizers involved in the administration but who tend to travel beneath the radar include:

Imam Mohamed Magid, Homeland Security Countering Violent Extremism Working Group Member : He is a Sudanese-born president for the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) with allegedties to the Muslim Brotherhood. ISNA’s parent is the Muslim Student Association. ISNA completed a $21 million headquarters in Indianapolis using fundsraised in part from Muslim Brotherhood.

Eboo Patel, Obama Administration Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships: Patel spoke at a Muslim Students Association and ISNA convention, appearing on a panel alongside Tariq Ramadan, grandson of the Muslim Brotherhood’s founder, and Siraj Wahhaj, who was named as a possible co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and has defended the convicted WTC bombers. Wahhaj allegedly advocates the Islamic takeover of America.

Huma Abedin, Deputy Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: Perhaps most famous for being wife of the disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner, Huma Abedin appears to have family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. In an interview with FrontPageMag, anti-Islamist author Walid Shoebat explained that Huma’s mother, Saleha Abedin, is involved with the Muslim Brotherhood and that Huma’s brother, Hassan, sits in on the board of the Oxford Centre For Islamic Studies (OCIS) where he is a fellow and partners with other board members including “Al-Qaeda associate, Omar Naseef and the notorious Muslim Brotherhood leader Sheikh Youssef Qaradawi; both have been listed as OCIS Trustees.”

US STATE DEPARTMENT HANDS TERROR-CULT US BASE IN IRAQ

In an unbelievable act of hightreason and overt criminality, the US State Department, headed by Secretary ofState Hillary Clinton, has finalized arrangements to move the US State Department-listed foreign terror organization,Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK), into the former US military base"Camp Liberty' in Iraq.

Effectively turning the camp into a living monument of desecration to thememories of 6,000+ US troops killed over thelast 10 years of the fraudulent "War on Terror," theUS State Department is also appropriating US taxpayers' money to make upgradesto the camp to accommodate the terrorist organization.

In Foreign Policy Magazine'sarticle, "Are the MEK’s U.S. friends itsworst enemies?," it is indicated that up to 3,000terrorists are expected to move into the new site with the first two convoysalready arriving at the camp over the last month.

Amazingly, MEK's support base not only includes the US State Department, butalso the United Nations, as well as a lobbying front including former New YorkCity Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Howard Dean, Tom Ridge, John Lewis,Ed Rendell, former FBI Director Louis Freeh, retired General Wesley Clark, Lee Hamilton who farcically oversaw the 9/11 Commission, former USMarine Corps Commandant General JamesJones, and Alan Dershowitz.(Check top image) There are also members of the British Parliament including David Amess of theParliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom, speaking on MEK's behalf.

It turns out that MEK's lobbying representatives are at odds with the US StateDepartment and the United Nations, and would like to see MEK maintain theircurrent base of operations at Iraq's Camp Ashraf instead of being moved to CampLiberty where conditions are alleged to be "substandard." Theirlobbying efforts include full page adds in national newspapers including theWashington Post and the New York Times, as well as attending conferences in Paris,France where MEK's political wing is based.

MEK IS A LISTED TERROR ORGANIZATIONFOR A REASON

MEK has carried out decades of brutal terrorist attacks, assassinations, andespionage against the Iranian government and its people, as well as targetingAmericans including the attempted kidnapping of US Ambassador Douglas MacArthur II, the attempted assassination of USAF Brigadier General Harold Price, the successfulassassination of Lieutenant Colonel Louis Lee Hawkins, the double assassinations of Colonel Paul Shaffer and LieutenantColonel Jack Turner, and the successful ambush andkilling of American Rockwell International employees William Cottrell, DonaldSmith, and Robert Krongard.

Admissions to the deaths of the Rockwell International employees can be foundwithin a report written by former US StateDepartment and Department of Defense official Lincoln Bloomfield Jr.on behalf of the lobbying firm Akin Gump in an attempt todismiss concerns over MEK's violent past and how it connects to its currentcampaign of armed terror - a testament to the depths of depravity from whichWashington and London lobbyists operate.

To this day MEK terrorists have been carrying out attacks inside of Irankilling political opponents, attacking civilian targets, as well as carrying out the US-Israeli programof targeting and assassinating Iranian scientists. MEK terrorists are also suspected of handling patsies in recent false flag operationscarried out in India, Georgia, and Thailand, which have been ham-handedly blamed on the Iranian government.

MEK is described by Council on Foreign Relations Senior Fellow Ray Takeyh as a "cult-like organization" with "totalitariantendencies." While Takeyh fails to expand on what he meant by"cult-like" and "totalitarian," an interview with US StateDepartment-run Radio Free Europe-Radio Liberty reported that a MEK Camp Ashraf escapee claimed the terroristorganization bans marriage, using radios, the Internet, and holds many membersagainst their will with the threat of death if ever they are caught attemptingto escape.

US HAS BEEN SUPPORTING MEK FOR YEARS

This treason and overt criminality is not a recent turn of events. There are3-4 years of documented collaboration between the United States and MEK,including an extensive conspiracy formulated within US policy think-tankBrookings Institution's 2009 "Which Path to Persia?"report, proposing to fully arm, train, and back MEK as it wageda campaign of armed terror against the Iranian people.

In their report, they openly conspire to use what is an admitted terroristorganization as a "US proxy" (emphasis added):

"Perhaps the most prominent (and certainly the mostcontroversial) opposition group that has attracted attention as a potentialU.S. proxy is the NCRI (National Council of Resistance of Iran), the politicalmovement established by the MEK(Mujahedin-e Khalq). Critics believe the group to be undemocratic andunpopular, and indeed anti-American.

In contrast, the group’s champions contend that the movement’s long-standingopposition to the Iranian regime and record of successful attacks on andintelligence-gathering operations against the regime make it worthy of U.S.support. They also argue that the group is no longer anti-American and questionthe merit of earlier accusations. Raymond Tanter, one of the group’s supportersin the United States, contends that theMEK and the NCRI are allies for regime change in Tehran and also act asa useful proxy for gathering intelligence. The MEK’s greatest intelligence coupwas the provision of intelligence in 2002 that led to the discovery of a secretsite in Iran for enriching uranium.

Despite itsdefenders’ claims, the MEK remains on the U.S. government list of foreignterrorist organizations. In the 1970s,the group killed three U.S. officers and three civilian contractors in Iran.During the 1979-1980 hostage crisis, the group praised the decision to takeAmerica hostages and Elaine Sciolino reported that while group leaders publiclycondemned the 9/11 attacks, within the group celebrations were widespread.

Undeniably, the group has conductedterrorist attacks ~ often excused by the MEK’s advocates because theyare directed against the Iranian government. For example, in 1981, the groupbombed the headquarters of the Islamic Republic Party, which was then theclerical leadership’s main political organization, killing an estimated 70senior officials. More recently, thegroup has claimed credit for over a dozen mortar attacks, assassinations, andother assaults on Iranian civilian and military targets between 1998 and 2001.At the very least, to work more closely with the group (at least in an overtmanner), Washington would need toremove it from the list of foreign terrorist organizations." ~ page 117-118of "Which Path to Persia?" It was alsorevealed in Seymour Hersh's 2008 New Yorker article"Preparing the Battlefield," that notonly had MEK been considered for their role as a possible proxy, but that theUS had already begun arming and financing them to wage war inside Iran:

"The M.E.K.has been on the State Department’s terrorist list for more than a decade, yetin recent years the group has received arms and intelligence, directly orindirectly, from the United States. Some of the newly authorized covert funds,the Pentagon consultant told me, may well end up in M.E.K. coffers. “The newtask force will work with the M.E.K. The Administration is desperate forresults.”

He added,

“TheM.E.K. has no C.P.A. auditing the books, and its leaders are thought to havebeen lining their pockets for years. If people only knew what the M.E.K. isgetting, and how much is going to its bank accounts ~ and yet it is almostuseless for the purposes the Administration intends.”

Seymore Hersh in an NPR interview, also claims that select MEK members have already receivedtraining in the US.

More recently, the British Daily Mail published a stunningadmission by "US officials" thatIsrael is currently funding, training, arming, and working directly with MEK.The Daily Mail article states, "U.S. officials confirmed today that Israelhas been funding and training Iranian dissidents to assassinate nuclearscientists involved in Iran's nuclear program." The article continues byclaiming, "Washington insiders confirmed there is a close relationshipbetween Mossad and MEK."

"Legal Ramifications" of USLeadership's aiding and abetting MEK

The US State Department's own website features a list of designated foreign terrorist organizations(FTO) upon which MEK is clearly listed. Toward the bottom of the page, theState Department indicates the "Legal Ramifications of [its]Designation" as follows:

It is unlawful for a person in the United States or subject tothe jurisdiction of the United States to knowingly provide "materialsupport or resources" to a designated FTO.

(The term "material support or resources" is definedin 18 U.S.C. § 2339A(b)(1) as " any property, tangible or intangible, orservice, including currency or monetary instruments or financial securities,financial services, lodging, training, expert advice or assistance, safehouses,false documentation or identification, communications equipment, facilities,weapons, lethal substances, explosives, personnel (1 or more individuals whomaybe or include oneself), and transportation, except medicine or religiousmaterials.” 18 U.S.C. § 2339A(b)(2) provides that for these purposes “the term‘training’ means instruction or teaching designed to impart a specific skill,as opposed to general knowledge.” 18 U.S.C. § 2339A(b)(3) further provides thatfor these purposes the term ‘expert advice or assistance’ means advice orassistance derived from scientific, technical or other specialized knowledge.’’

Representatives and members of a designated FTO, if they arealiens, are inadmissible to and, in certain circumstances, removable from theUnited States (see 8 U.S.C. §§ 1182 (a)(3)(B)(i)(IV)-(V), 1227 (a)(1)(A)).

Any U.S. financial institution that becomes aware that it haspossession of or control over funds in which a designated FTO or its agent hasan interest must retain possession of or control over the funds and report thefunds to the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of theTreasury.

Quite clearly, MEK's collaborators within the US State Department, the UnitedNations, the Israeli government, and throughout MEK's lobbying front, includingboth prominent US and British leaders, are blatantly guilty of violatingmultiple sections of US code implicating a vastarray of serious charges and punitive actions including jail sentences ofbetween 15 years to life, that now need to be pursued with due diligence.

WHAT IT REALLY MEANS AND WHAT WE MUSTDO

Unfortunately, such criminality operating at the highest levels of USgovernance is likely to result in absolutely nothing being done. Already, andfor years, these perpetrators have supported a listed terrorist organizationwith both US and Iranian military, diplomatic, and civilian blood on its hands,and they will likely continue to do so, along with Libyan Islamic Fighting Group(LIFG) militants operating with full NATOsupport in Libya and now Syria, as well as Baluchistan terrorists supported in terrorist operations against both the Iranian andPakistani governments.

What Americans are left with is irrefutable evidence that the "War on Terror" is afraud ~ where anti-terrorism laws,designations, and counter-terrorism operations around the world are merelyobserved and selectively enforced for the convenience of perpetuating aclandestine, insidious self-serving political agenda that transcendspresidencies and party lines and feeds American lives and trillions of Americantaxpayer dollars into the ever-consuming maw of this contrived "clash ofcivilizations."

What can be done, is the identifying and exposing of thecorporate-financier interests driving thisagenda, the systematic boycotting and replacement of these interests with local solutions, and other grassrootsefforts (food sovereignty, Oath Keepers, Constitutional sheriffs) to remove thefederal and corporate parasitic proboscis that feeds on Americans to fuel anincreasingly Neroesque degenerate ruling elite.

The fall of Saddam Hussein's regime affected the circumstances of the designated foreign terrorist organization Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK). The MEK was allied with the Iraqi regime and received most of its support from it. The MEK assisted the Hussein regime in suppressing opposition within Iraq, and performed internal security for the Iraqi regime. The National Liberation Army was the military wing of the National Council of Resistance of Iran.

Mujahedin-e-Khalq [MEK] facilities in Iraq included

• Camp Ashraf, the MEK military headquarters, is about 100 kilometers west of the Iranian border and 100 kilometers north of Baghdad near Khalis
• Camp Anzali near the town of Jalawla [Jalula] (120-130 km (70-80 miles) northeast of Baghdad and about 40-60 km (20-35 miles) from the border with Iran)
• Camp Faezeh in Kut
• Camp Habib in Basra
• Camp Homayoun in Al-Amarah
• Camp Bonyad Alavi near the city of Miqdadiyah in Mansourieh [about 65 miles northeast of Baghdad]

On 10 May 2003 V Corps accepted the voluntary consolidation of the Mujahedin-E-Khalq's forces, and subsequent control over those forces. This process is expected to take several days to complete. Previously, V Corps was monitoring a cease-fire brokered between the MEK and Special Forces elements. The MEK forces had been abiding by the terms of this agreement and are cooperating with Coalition soldiers.

By mid-May 2003 Coalition forces had consolidated 2,139 tanks, armored personnel carriers, artillery pieces, air defense artillery pieces and miscellaneous vehicles formerly in the possession of the Mujahedin-E Khalq (MEK) forces. The 4th Infantry Division also reported they have destroyed most of the MEK munitions and caches. The voluntary, peaceful resolution of this process by the MEK and the Coalition significantly contributed to the Coalition's mission to establish a safe and secure environment for the people of Iraq. The 4,000 MEK members in the Camp Ashraf former Mujahedeen base were consolidated, detained, disarmed and were screened for any past terrorist acts.

The United States, which lists National Council of Resistance of Iran as a terrorist organization, closed the NCRI's Washington office in 2003.

Description

Mujahedeen-e-Khalq (MEK) is the largest and most militant group opposed to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Also known as the People's Mujahedeen Organization of Iran, MEK is led by husband and wife Massoud and Maryam Rajavi. MEK was added to the U.S. State Department's list of foreign terrorist groups in 1997.

MEK was founded in the 1960s by a group of college-educated Iranian leftists opposed to the country's pro-Western ruler, Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Although the group took part in the 1979 Islamic revolution that replaced the shah with a Shiite Islamist regime, MEK's ideology, a blend of Marxism and Islamism, put it at odds with the postrevolutionary government. In 1981, the group was driven from its bases on the Iran-Iraq border and resettled in Paris, where it began supporting Iraq in its eight-year war against Khomeini's Iran. In 1986, MEK moved its headquarters to Iraq where it received its primary support to attack the regime in Iran. During the 2003 Iraq war, U.S. forces cracked down on MEK's bases in Iraq, and in June 2003 French authorities raided an MEK compound outside Paris and arrested 160 people, including Maryam Rajavi.

Activities

The group has targeted Iranian government officials and government facilities in Iran and abroad; during the 1970s, it attacked Americans in Iran. While the group says it does not intentionally target civilians, it has often risked civilian casualties. It routinely aims its attacks at government buildings in crowded cities. MEK terrorism has declined since late 2001. Incidents linked to the group include:

• The series of mortar attacks and hit-and-run raids during 2000 and 2001 against Iranian government buildings; one of these killed Iran's chief of staff
• The 2000 mortar attack on President Mohammad Khatami's palace in Tehran
• The February 2000 "Operation Great Bahman," during which MEK launched 12 attacks against Iran
• The 1999 assassination of the deputy chief of Iran's armed forces general staff, Ali Sayyad Shirazi
• The 1998 assassination of the director of Iran's prison system, Asadollah Lajevardi
• The 1992 near-simultaneous attacks on Iranian embassies and institutions in 13 countries Assistance to Saddam Hussein's suppression of the 1991 Iraqi Shiite and Kurdish uprisings
• The 1981 bombing of the offices of the Islamic Republic Party and of Premier Mohammad-Javad Bahonar, which killed some 70 high-ranking Iranian officials, including President Mohammad-Ali Rajaei and Bahonar Support for the 1979 takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran by Iranian revolutionaries
• The 1970s killings of U.S. military personnel and civilians working on defense projects in Tehran

In the early 1970s, angered by U.S. support for the pro-Western shah, MEK members killed several U.S. soldiers and civilians working on defense projects in Iran. Some experts say the attack may have been the work of a Maoist splinter faction operating beyond the Rajavi leadership's control. MEK members also supported the 1979 takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, in which 52 Americans were held hostage for 444 days.

Strength

MEK is believed to have several thousand members, one-third to one-half of whom are fighters. MEK activities have dropped off in recent years as its membership has dwindled.

Location/Area of Operation

The group's armed unit operated from camps in Iraq near the Iran border since 1986. During the Iraq war, U.S. troops disarmed MEK and posted guards at its bases. In addition to its Paris-based members, MEK has a network of sympathizers in Europe, the United States, and Canada. The group's political arm, the National Council of Resistance of Iran, maintains offices in several capitals, including Washington, D.C.

External Aid

When Saddam Hussein was in power, MEK received the majority of its financial support from the Iraqi regime. It also used front organizations, such as the Muslim Iranian Student's Society, to collect money from expatriate Iranians and others, according to the State Department's counterterrorism office. Iraq was MEK's primary benefactor. Iraq provided MEK with bases, weapons, and protection, and MEK harassed Saddam's Iranian foes. MEK's attacks on Iran traditionally intensified when relations between Iran and Iraq grew strained. Iraq encouraged or restrained MEK, depending on Baghdad's interests.

Leadership

Maryam Rajavi is MEK's principal leader; her husband, Massoud Rajavi, heads up the group's military forces. Maryam Rajavi, born in 1953 to an upper-middleclass Iranian family, joined MEK as a student in Tehran in the early 1970s. After relocating with the group to Paris in 1981, she was elected its joint leader and later became deputy commander-in-chief of its armed wing. Massoud Rajavi was last known to be living in Iraq, but authorities aren't certain of his whereabouts or whether he is alive.
