Salam al Maseeh

The first Palestinian above all others is Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Let be accursed any gospel other than that which was preached at the beginning, received not from man but from Christ Jesus, thou alone, in whom we have redemption through thy all holy infinitely pure and undefiled blood, the remission of our sins, who in the future shall recreate the heavens and the earth, called by thine special choice, who before hoped in Christ with all who heard the word of truth and believed, sealed with the Holy Spirit of the promise, who is the pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of the possession, for the praise of his glory, in faith in the Lord Jesus, and of love for all the saints in unceasing intercession of all the elect angels and saints of God, virgins, with all thanksgiving, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in deep knowledge of him; the eyes of our minds being enlightened, to know the hope of his calling, the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of his power towards us who believe, according to the working of his mighty power wrought in Christ the only first born from the dead in the flesh raised above all things he made subject under his feet, we who hold him the head directly and no other, Christ Jesus our only Lord and Saviour immortal son of the immortal Father in the unity and power and bond of love of the immortal Holy Spirit our Paraclete unto the ages of the ages. Amen.

The Final Trial: Jesus Christ begotten of the Father - not made

A prayer of Isaias the Prophet.

Is. 26: 9-21

(Isaias' prophecy, which is also his prayer.)

O Lord our God, grant us peace. Out of the night my spirit waketh at dawn unto Thee, O God; for Thy commandments are a light upon the earth. Learn righteousness, all ye that dwell upon the earth. For the ungodly man hath come to an end; every one that learneth not righteousness upon the earth shall not be able to do truth; let the ungodly be taken away, that he may not see the glory of the Lord. O Lord, Thine arm is lifted up, and they knew it not; but when they know it, let them be put to shame. Zeal shall lay hold upon an untaught people, and now fire shall devour the adversaries. O Lord our God, bestow Thy peace upon us, for Thou hast given all things unto us. O Lord our God, take us for Thy possession. O Lord, we know no other beside Thee; we call upon Thy name. But the dead shall not see life, neither shall physicians raise them up; therefore hast Thou brought wrath upon them, and hast slain them, and hast taken every man of them away. Bring more evils upon them, Lord; bring more evils upon them that are glorious upon the earth. O Lord, in trouble we remembered Thee; with small affliction was Thy chastening with us. And as a woman in travail draweth nigh to be delivered, and crieth out in her travail, so have we become in the presence of Thy beloved. We have conceived, O Lord, because of Thy fear, and have suffered pangs, and have brought forth the spirit of Thy salvation, which we have wrought upon the earth. We shall not fail, but all those that dwell upon the earth shall fail. The dead shall arise, and they that are in the tomb shall awake, and they that are upon the earth shall rejoice. For the dew which Thou sendest is healing unto them; but the land of the ungodly shall perish. Go, my people, enter into thine inner chamber, shut thy door, hide thyself for a little season [during the Great Tribulation, hidden in mountains and dens and caves of the earth - there is NO secret rapture which is only an heretical apostate Lurianic Talmudic Judaic doctrine], until the anger of the Lord shall pass away.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

And see: The Abomination of Desolation

Note in the below that this is a description of the evil that precedes the Antichrist who is the Abomination of Desolation. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ then comes after the reign of Antichrist has proceeded for a while. Antichrist, his reign and the False Prophet and all their followers are then destroyed by the Second Coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ from heaven with all His elect Angels and sent to hell forever. The saints will then reign with Our Lord Jesus Christ at their head on earth forever.

Palestine, which is properly the Holy Land for in it walked God in the flesh, Jesus Christ, and there He allowed Himself to be sacrificed for the salvation of those who profess Him from the heart and with the mouth, is a miniature of all the evil that has come upon the earth and there will the final evil be concentrated in its fullness and rule from there for a short time.

From: The Abomination of Desolation

Writing in the second century, St. Hippolytus wrote the following about the evil that will abound before the coming of Antichrist:

The temples of God will be like houses, and there will be overturnings of the churches everywhere. The Scriptures will be despised, and everywhere they will sing the songs of the adversary. Fornications, and adulteries, and perjuries will fill the land; sorceries, and incantations, and divinations will follow after these with all force and zeal. And, on the whole, from among those who profess to be Christians will rise up then false prophets, false apostles, impostors, mischief-makers, evil-doers, liars against each other, adulterers, fornicators, robbers, grasping, perjured, mendacious, hating each other. The shepherds will be like wolves; the priests will embrace falsehood; the monks will lust after the things of the world; the rich will assume hardness of heart; the rulers will not help the poor; the powerful will cast off all pity; the judges will remove justice from the just, and, blinded with bribes, they will call in unrighteousness.

MATTHEW 28

CHAPTER XXVIII.

The resurrection of Christ. His commission to his disciples.

1 And *in the end of the sabbath, when it began to dawn towards the first day of the week,

18 And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth.

19 *Going, therefore, teach ye all nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit;

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.

"Consummation of the world," - the end of this age of grace and the beginning of the eternal ages with Christ reigning visibly. This is the end of the eschaton and the beginning of the eternal recreated heavens and the earth and will begin when Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ returns from heaven in the same flesh He rose with and ascended into the third heaven with, seated at the right hand of the Father. His return will be with all of His elect angels. He will raise and judge all men in the flesh and then recreate the heavens and the earth, which in that state will last that way for eternity. There will NOT be any sin in the new heavens and earth, so prepare now by confessing the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit and be baptized as commanded above and shown how to baptize below and live Holy and Godly lives in sincerity and humility and meekness waiting for the Lord when He returns so that we are not like the five foolish virgins but are like the five wise virgins.

Method of Baptism

From the Didache (49 A.D. Council of Jerusalem):

Chapter 7. Concerning Baptism.

And concerning baptism, baptize this way: Having first said all these things, baptize the one to be baptized into Jesus Christ in "the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit," in running water. But if you have no running water, baptize into other water [still water]; and if you cannot do so in cold water, do so in warm. But if you have neither, pour out water three times upon the head onto the one to be baptized saying at that time "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." But before the baptism, if possible, let the baptizer fast, and the baptized, and whoever else can; but you shall order the baptized [when there is time] to fast one or two days before.

Baptism can and should always be performed immediately when there is danger of death of the one to be baptized. For instance, impending martyrdom or possible death causing illness.

As the Word of God Jesus Christ willed to learn in His Incarnation what He already possessed and knew prior to His Incarnation as part of His kenosis (emptying out of Himself and taking upon Himself our nature while in no way losing anything of what He already was as God by nature and Son of God as the Second Person of the undivided Trinity) and as an example to us of how we in humility must follow God the Father and the Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

See this for why Jesus Christ must be confessed as the Holy Word and Son of God: The Final Trial: Mary - revered by both Christians and Muslims as the vessel through whom God made the Word, Jesus Christ, Incarnate

The Muslim feast of Eid only commemorates the typological sacrifice by Abraham of Issac. That prefigured the final and only Supreme Sacrifice of Jesus Christ on His Most Holy Cross. It is only by the Sacrifice of Christ on His Cross that we are saved. Jesus Christ commanded, not suggested, that we be baptized; echoing the rest of the Church Fathers, St. Augustine noted that if someone could not be baptized even though they wanted it and did everything they could to be baptized in the water in name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, then their confession of faith is enough for their salvation. But no where are we allowed to refuse baptism.

All Muslims and everyone who will, are invited and encouraged to come to the water of life now and be baptized in the water and in the Spirit in name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit and receive Communion.

In the below “Dam (Blood) Kadosh (Holy) bet Yeshua ha Maschiach (Jesus Christ) kanawn anawim (have mercy on Your faithful [those who turn to God by the shed Blood of Christ on Calvary])” is asking for God's forgiveness by the shed Holy Blood of Christ – which is the only forgiveness there is from God for sin.

The Justice of God: Bethlehemites: Military and Religious Orders

Satan's Juden-ZioNazi and the Antichrist and the Dajjal in one, Apostate Judaism and Catholicism and Islam together at last.

Evolutionary religious views (innately false) and compromise with militarist pragmatism and money, money, money is how the NWO (the rising Antichrist) manipulates all of this.

The Houses of the Dragon is how it is being done - Monarchist Nobility and Risorgimento (which see: The Justice of God: Palestine Cry: The 'Nuen Kulturkampf' and the Judas knife in the back) are welded togther by the design of the ancient Mesopotamian Illuminist Houses of the Dragon. The core of black magic ancient Satanists were struck down from power by the rise of the Prophets of ancient Israel under the guidance of the Immortal Word of God Who is Jesus Christ and then the faithful of original Catholicism and then the simple unadorned believers of the original message of Muslims who retained the belief in and the witness of the Injeel (Gospels) and the Taurat (Torah of Moses) including professing Jesus Christ as the Immortal Word of God. This included the rise of civil rulers who governed by Godly principles. The Satanist Elites despised this and sought to return things to the Apostasy of the Devil. These "Nobles," that is the Elites of all cultures have been joined by: Pan Government Organizations (the United Nations, the CFR etc.) and Secret Subversive organizations (a Modern S.S. of MI6, KGB-FSB-GRU, OSS-CIA, DIA etc. including their pet demon the Mossadniks). The Black Nobility, and its roots - the Houses of the Dragon, is the basis of all Freemasonry, both Jew and Gentile, and the Hermetic apostasy in Christendom and Kabbalah and all world religion and world government and the Vatican False Prophet and the Palestinian-"Israel" JudeNazi Antichrist

Bethlehemites: Military and Religious Orders

SEPTEMBER 9, 2013
Bethlehemites
I. MILITARY ORDERS
Statue of St. Peter of Saint Joseph Betancur in Tenerife, Spain.
Statue of St. Peter of Saint Joseph Betancur in Tenerife, Spain.
There were two military orders dedicated to Our Lady of Bethlehem and known under the name of Bethlehemites. Mathew Paris calls attention to the former in his “Grande Chronique” (tr. Huillard-Bréholles, Paris, 1840, 8vo, III, 300) where he mentions that Henry III of England authorized them to open a house in a suburb of Cambridge (1257); but he leaves us in complete ignorance as to their founder, where they originated, and their history. We only know that their habit was similar to that of the Dominicans and that a red star, whose five rays emanated from an azure centre, decorated the breast of their cape. This was in commemoration of the star that appeared to the Magi and led them to Bethlehem. Nothing further is known of this military order. There was an order of knights whose members wore a red star on their costume and who might have been called Bethlehemites because of having a house in Bethlehem at the time of the Crusades; this was the Military Order of Crusaders of the Red Star (Ordo militaris crucigerorum cum rubeâ stellâ). They came from Palestine to Bohemia in 1217, and Blessed Agnes of Bohemia confided two hospitals to their charge. They have since remained in that country where they devote themselves to the care of the sick, to education, and to the various works of the ecclesiastical ministry.

Island of Lemnos, Greece
After the taking of Constantinople by the Turks (1453), Pius II founded under the patronage of Our Lady of Bethlehem an order of knights for the defence of the Island of Lemnos which Cardinal Louis, Patriarch of Aquileia, had recaptured from Mohammed II. The island was to be their headquarters whence they were to oppose the attacks of the Moslems by way of the Ægean Sea and the Hellespont. The order was composed of brother-knights and priests governed by an elective grand-master. The white costume worn by the members was decorated with a red cross and the rule prescribed for them was very similar to that of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem. The pope installed this community 18 January, 1459, and, that their needs might be supplied, turned over to them the property and revenues of the orders of St. Lazarus, of Sainte-Marie du Ch teau des Bretons, of Bologna, of the Holy Sepulchre, of Santo Spirito in Sassia, of St. Mary of the Crossed Friars, and of St. James of Lucca, all of which were suppressed for this purpose. Pius II alluded in a Bull to this foundation and the bravery of its knights, but the second capture of Lemnos by the Turks rendered the institution useless. Thus the order of Our Lady of Bethlehem was suppressed almost as soon as founded and those orders whose goods the pope had transmitted to it were re-established.

HOSPITALERS
The hospitaler Bethlehemites, or Belemites, were founded by the Ven. Pedro de Betancourt. A descendant of the celebrated Juan de Betancourt, who, early in the fifteenth century, achieved the conquest of the Canary Islands for Henry III of Spain, Pedro was born at Villaflora on the Island of Teneriffe in 1619. From childhood he led a pious, austere life and in 1650 left family and country, thus carrying out his desire of going to the West Indies. During the following year he reached Guatemala, the capital of New Spain, where he intended to prepare for the priesthood that later he might go forth and evangelize Japan. However, three years of unsuccessful study at a Jesuit college led him to abandon this idea and, after holding the position of sacristan for a while in a church dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, he rented a house in a suburb of the city called Calvary, and there taught reading and catechism to poor children. But this charitable work did not furnish sufficient outlet for his zeal. The condition of the sick poor excited his compassion and he sheltered them in his home which he converted into a hospital. His zeal elicited benefactions from those around him and the bishop and governor supplied him with all the conveniences he required. Several individuals provided for the purchase of the houses surrounding the one he then occupied and on their site was erected a hospital in which this servant of God could labour to better advantage. He himself worked with the masons. The hospital was thoroughly equipped and stocked and even offered an opportunity for the religious installment of those who tended the sick. The institution was placed under the patronage of Our Lady of Bethlehem. Helpers soon joined Pedro de Betancourt and at length was formed a congregation of brothers generally known as Bethlehemites and so called on account of their house. But the care of the sick did not totally absorb their attention; they likewise lent their assistance in the two other hospitals of the city and Pedro continued to befriend poor children. The prisoners also excited his compassion. Every Thursday he begged for them through the city and visited them in their cells. The neglected souls in purgatory were also the objects of his solicitude and at the principal gates of the city he founded two hermitages, or chapels, wherein religious of his community begged, so that masses might be celebrated for the souls of the deceased. He himself would travel the streets at night ringing a bell and recommending these souls to be prayed for. His devotion to the Blessed Virgin was inspiring and during a novena of preparation for the feast of the Purification his religious, with arms extended in the form of a cross, recited the rosary in their chapel at midnight in the midst of a great throng. In 1654 he made a vow to defend the Immaculate Conception even at the peril of his life. He died, exhausted by labour and penance, 25 April, 1667, at the age of forty-eight. His funeral was impressive and at the request of the Capuchin Fathers he was buried in their church where, for a long time, his remains were held in veneration.

Before establishing his Guatemala hospital Pedro de Betancourt had become affiliated with the Third Order of St. Francis, adopting its religious garb which he still retained after founding his congregation. He personally trained his first disciples and had no wish to organize a community, but simply to establish his hospital. He sent Brother Anthony of the Cross to Spain to solicit the king’s approbation of the work. The favour was granted, but Pedro died before the messenger’s return. From that time the community prospered, beginning with the extension of the hospital and the erection of a beautiful church. Brother Anthony, who assumed the government, drew up constitutions which he submitted to the bishop of the diocese for approval and it was at this juncture that the Capuchins requested him to make some alterations in the habit worn by his religious. A free school for poor children was already connected with the Bethlehem hospital, a feature of all new foundations. One of these was soon undertaken by Brother Anthony of the Cross who sent two of his community to Peru where they were very favourably received by the viceroy to whom he had recommended them. Doctor Antoine d’Arvila gave them the Hospital of Notre Dame du Carmel which he was then establishing at Lima and afterwards solicited admission among them. In 1672 Brother Roderick of the Cross obtained the confirmation of this establishment by the King of Spain and it was also through his efforts that Pope Clement X confirmed the congregation and its constitutions (1673). After his return to America this religious founded the Hospital of St. Francis Xavier in Mexico and those of Chachapoyas, Cajamarca, and Trujillo, going back to Spain in 1681 to secure the confirmation of these new institutions. The Council of the Indies assigned the hospital of Lima an income of 3,000 crowns. The Bethlehemites, because of making only simple vows, remained under diocesan jurisdiction from which they wished, however, to be freed so that their congregation might be converted into a regular religious order bound by solemn vows. The Spanish court did not approve this plan and at first the Holy See was not favourable to it, but due chiefly to the influence of Cardinal Mellini, former nuncio at Madrid, Roderick of the Cross at length overcame all difficulties and in the Bull of 26 March, 1687, Innocent XI authorized these religious to make the three solemn vows according to the rule of St. Augustine and to have a superior-general, and granted them all the privileges of the Augustinian friars and convents. Later, Clement XI renewed this authorization and these favours, adding thereunto the privileges of the mendicant orders, of the Regular Clerks, of the Ministers of the Sick, and of the Hospitallers of Charity of St. Hippolytus (1707).

Meanwhile the order was multiplying its foundations in Latin America and was established in Arequipa, Cuzco, Santiago de Cuba, Puebla, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Dajaka, Vera Cruz, Havana, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Ayres, and Guatemala la Nueva. A school for poor children was connected with every hospital and the pious, devoted lives of these religious won them esteem and gratitude. They were especially admired during the plague of 1736, a fact unanimously acknowledged by the writers who describe the condition of Latin America in the eighteenth century. But this did not prevent their suppression, as well as that of all other religious, in 1820. At that time their superior-general resided in Mexico and the Bethlehemites were scattered throughout two provinces, that of Peru including twenty-two houses and that of New-Spain, eleven. To the ordinary religious vows they added that of caring for the sick even at the risk of their own lives. In 1688 Brother Anthony of the Cross, with the help of a pious woman, Marie Anne del Gualdo, founded at Guatemala a community of Bethlehemite nuns and a hospital exclusively for women. These nuns were cloistered and observed the same rule as the men and they, too, were suppressed in 1820.

Austria and Slovakia combine good neighborly relations

"Austria and Slovakia combine good neighborly relations, which we want to continue," Chancellor Werner Faymann said today, Monday, after talks with his Slovak counterpart Robert Fico at the Federal Chancellery. " We also work together at European level good. Combating youth unemployment in Europe must have the highest priority ", said Faymann. For Slovakia with one of the highest youth unemployment rate in the EU, is particularly important. Austria applies with its Youth Guarantee already as an example for all of Europe .

Both known also to the need for a financial transaction tax. It was therefore important that the finance ministers push the work at European level quickly , said Faymann.

Was discussed as the possible holding of a business forum as an expression of the excellent economic relations between Austria and Slovakia.

The Chancellor also brought the major concerns about the use of nuclear power in general and in particular on the cross near Mochovce nuclear power plant and its planned expansion to express . " Austria will continue to push towards the European Commission on strict compliance with all EU environmental requirements through Slovakia. Also, the bilateral dialogue at expert level must be stepped up," the chancellor said in conclusion.

Bohemia

Send to friendPDF version
Prior to his death, John Dee had found his way to Prague, then under Habsburg rule, where he helped bring about the rise of this Rosicrucian movement. The Habsburgs had moved their capital from Vienna to Prague, in Bohemia, which became an occult oriented court, a centre of study in alchemy, astrology, magic and the notorious Picatrix, an Arabic work expounding on Sabian themes.
Interest in the Kabbalah was coupled with the “golden age” of Jewry in Bohemia. Despite their initial persecution during the Crusades, the Jewish community of Bohemia often enjoyed exceptional privileges. Although originating in southern France, it was in Spain that the Kabbalah would develop, and where the most important medieval Kabbalistic text, the Sepher ha Zohar, or Book of Light, was produced in 1286 AD. Ultimately, the spread of Kabbalistic influence, and the occult rites it involved, or mysteries, generally known as “witchcraft”, caused the Church to become increasingly suspicious, and to eventually attempt its brutal suppression.
Therefore, coincidentally, a year before the Templars were arrested, in 1307 AD, France expelled its Jewish population. The Jews had already been expelled from England in 1290 AD, by King Edward, when all the crowned heads of Europe followed in his example. Saxony followed suit in 1348. On the extinction of the house of Arpad of Hungary, and under the Angevin kings who then occupied the throne, the Hungarian Jews suffered many persecutions, and were expelled in 1360, and in 1370 Belgium, in 1380 Slovakia, in 1420 Austria, and in 1444 the Netherlands.
However, the anti-Semitic offensive of the papacy in the early thirteenth century little affected the conditions of Bohemia’s Jewish community, who enjoyed immunity for years. The Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV ensured their protection and allowed the Jews of Prague to have their own city flag, a red banner that featured, in gold, the Kabbalistic six-pointed star, known as the “Star of David”, or “Seal of Solomon”, being the first Jewish flag of its kind.
Red, as demonstrated by Andrew Colin Gow, author of Red Jews: Anti-Semitism in an Apocalyptic Age: 1200-1600, had become a color distinctly associated with the Jews. Between the thirteenth and sixteenth century, as he has shown, it became popular in German literature to identify Gog and Magog with the Lost Tribes of Israel, who collectively were referred to as “Red Jews”. As he further noted, Jews were often portrayed by medieval illustrations in Christian texts with red hair and in red clothes. According to Gow:
This connection was so widely-accepted as to be included prominently in illustrations of Hebrew manuscripts, though in such cases, these depictions presumably lacked or did not evoke the negative associations generally marked by red hair. The Jews by whom these manuscripts were made and for whom they were intended seem to have attached no negative significance to the color red. Yet as we have seen, Christian iconography “saw red” in connection with Judas. The Metzgers’ manuscript illuminations suggest that to Jews as to Christians, Jews were typically red-headed and wore red clothes; it was taken for granted.58
It was in Bohemia, therefore, that the most important modern development in Kabbalah took root, known as the New Kabbalah, derived by Isaac Luria. Luria’s novel interpretations essentially fired new Messianic hopes, which inspired Jews who recently endured the expulsion from Spain. As in other parts of Europe, violent persecution had been growing in Spain and Portugal, where in 1391, hundreds of thousands of Jews had been forced to convert to Catholicism. Publicly, the Jewish converts, known as Marranos, were Christians, but secretly they continued to practice Judaism, including following the Kabbalah. After 1540, many Marranos fled to England, Holland, France, the Ottoman Empire, Brazil and other places in South and Central America. These Marranos maintained strong family ties and became influential where they lived.
In Spain, during the fifteenth century, the Marranos “crypto-Jews”, founded the Christian heresy of the Alumbrados, or the Illuminati, the same name applied by Adam Weishaupt, to his diabolical order two centuries later. Ignatius of Loyola, born in 1491, from Marranos parents, was a member of the Allumbrados, though, as a cover for his activities, he became the founder of the Order of Jesus, known as the infamous Jesuits in 1540.59 The Jesuit order not only became a destructive arm of the Roman Catholic Church, but developed into a secret intelligence service.
Ultimately, the Jesuits would follow the same conspiratorial methods as the Ismailis, for indoctrinating recruits into their subversive mission, as the following, taken from the secret oath of the Jesuits, demonstrates:
You have been taught to insidiously plant the seeds of jealousy and hatred between communities, provinces, states that were at peace, and incite them to deeds of blood, involving them in war with each other, and to create revolutions and civil wars in countries that were independent and prosperous, cultivating the arts and the sciences and enjoying the blessings of peace. To take sides with the combatants and to act secretly with your brother Jesuit, who might be engaged on the other side, but openly opposed to that with which you might be connected, only that the Church might be the gainer in the end, in the conditions fixed in the treaties for peace and that the end justifies the means.
Luria initiated a new interpretation of the role of the Kabbalah in preparation for the arrival of the Messiah. In Luria’s system, all being is said to have been in exile, that is, separated from God, since the very beginning of creation, and the task of restoring everything to its proper order is the specific role of the Jewish people. The final redemption, however, cannot be achieved merely through the advent of the Messiah, but must be brought about historically, through a long chain of actions that prepare the way.
Essentially, the important notion that was transmitted to the Kabbalists was this, that they must not merely await the fulfillment of prophecy with regards to the coming of the Messiah, and the restoration of the Jewish people in the Promised Land. Rather, they ought to work actively to prepare for his appearance. First, this meant manipulating the course of fate through the use of magic, and finally, of preparing the necessary political and moral circumstances for the world to receive his coming, that is, a New World Order.

Order of the Cross with the Red Star

Agnes of Bohemia, inspired by the example of her cousin Elizabeth of Hungary, began to gather Prague's poor around her, but when she joined the Holy Order she had to hand the move[ment] to the Brotherhood, founded by her just to serve the poor and destitute.
Traditionally the first hospitallers were crusaders coming home from Palestine, called the Betlehemites. The Brotherhood was founded in 1233 and its first prior was Master Albert of Sternberg. The Brotherhood was elevated to the independent Hospitaller Order in 1237 by Pope Gregory IX through his Bull "Omnipotens Deus". The Order had to follow the monastic rules of St. Augustine. The new order, which got a large dowry from Saint Agnes, was also supported by King Wenceslas I of Bohemia. Inspite of originating from a Franciscan family, it soon took over the setting up of the knight orders.
Members of the order were mostly unordained friars, and even nuns, who, however, died out in Cheb by the end of the 13th century. In 1240 the friars came to Silesia and Poland thanks to the Blessed Anne of Bohemia, who married Henry II the Pious. The main house of the Silesian Foundation was a monastery and the St. Matthias’ church in Breslau, which served its function up to secularisation in 1810, when it was abolished together with other hospitals and monastic Commendams.
At the same time they also came to Moravia and settled in the Stronghold of St. Hippolytus in Znaim, where they took over a local ancient provost, re-established a hospital and maintained spiritual administration of adjacent villages. From the monastery of St. Francis in Prague the monks moved to the nearby Church of St. Peter in Prague Na Porici. In 1252 they got a prestigious location at the foot of the bridge, bought for them by their foundress.
At the request of St. Agnes they added a six-pointed star to the Red Cross they wore on their robes. The New Order was rapidly spreading, with the friars working mainly in the hospitals or in the parish and also undertaking some scientific tasks. During 1561 - 1694 the grandmasters also held the position of Prague archbishops. The year 1675 is important as Clement X elevated the Hospitaller Orders to the Orders of the Knights; the Grand Master later got the right of abbot benediction and was the first prelate of the kingdom.
Since the18th century, the Order extended to Bratislava, Vienna and Buda, where it founded new major hospitals and achieved a high social recognition at the imperatorial court. The last commendam out side the Czech territory remains to this day at the Karlskirche Church in Vienna. This important Order survived both the Nazi and Communist persecution, but the number ofits members has decreased and it is now the smallest Catholic Order. May God allow, through the intercession of St. Agnes, the Order to flourish so that it can continue its godly activities and its pious service to all in need and to the destitute.

Slovakia, the Chinese Gateway to Europe?

Chinese dragon arrives (c) Janaa
Slovakia could find itself inundated with Chinese companies if the plan of the Chinese European Centre takes shape near Senec as planned.

Possibly hundreds of Chinese companies could be using Slovakia as their stepping stone to the rest of Europe, as the new Centre will act as a channel to ease the entry of the companies to European markets.

The company UMC Slovakia is behind the idea and company director Vladislav Khabliev concluded an agreement with intermediary Anhui Publishing Group to get Chinese companies interested in using the centre, which will be the biggest of its kind in Europe.

The project counts with a budget of around EUR 100 million with many potential jobs arising as a result.

Gateway to Europe

Ivan Gašparovič, President of the Slovak Republic
The Slovak Republic can serve as Asia’s gateway to Western and Eastern Europe, according to Ivan Gašparovič, President of the Slovak Republic.

In his first official visit to Hong Kong last week, the President headed a high-level delegation of some 40 major Slovak government and business leaders. At a business luncheon hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Mr Gašparovič talked up the opportunities for investment in his country.

What is the purpose of your visit to Hong Kong? The purpose of my visit is very clear: to find business opportunities for Slovakia with other countries. Amid the global economic crisis, we have come to the region that is synonymous with economic success and dynamic development, even at a time when the global economy finds itself in an intricate situation. Hong Kong is constantly going through a transformation process, which has been pretty much typical of Central Europe, and Slovakia in particular, over the past two decades.

I have heard many interesting opinions here on how to address identical problems, including job creation, strengthening domestic demand, support for small and medium-sized businesses, and investment in advanced technology.

As an open economy and international financial centre, Hong Kong has, for many years, topped the Index of Economic Freedom and freedom from corruption. These achievements are extremely encouraging and inspiring for us.

Where are the areas for economic cooperation?Hong Kong is an important partner for the European Union and for Slovakia as well. Our Hong Kong meetings aim to present Slovakia as a European country with a stable and convenient environment for business and investment, hungry for cooperation in research and development, advanced technology and the tourism industry.

We met with officials to discuss opportunities for doing business with Hong Kong. We spoke about Slovakia being the possible logistics centre or gateway to Europe because of our strategic position there.
We’re also interested in attracting Hong Kong investment in our spa tourism. Slovakia has many hot springs, some of which are still waiting to be discovered. So we’re talking about the possibility of developing the spa industry, with cooperation from Hong Kong investment.
We have also spoken about the possibility of cooperation in science and research and about opportunities for investment in our infrastructure projects.

Why is Slovakia an ideal place to invest? We are situated in the heart of Europe, connecting the West with the East. We have a simple tax system, and are the fastest-growing economy in the European Union. We are also part of the single European currency.

Hong Kong businessmen would find a very friendly economic environment in Slovakia, with a very good tax system for business and a low-cost, qualified labour force.

Slovakia is about to become the leading producer of flat-screen televisions in Europe, and is now the biggest producer and exporter of cars in Europe per capita, with companies like Volkswagen, Hyundai and Peugeot setting up factories there.

Why are you interested in partnering with Hong Kong? You are part of China, so we would like to invest together in China, but you can also invest in Slovakia. Being one of the world’s major financial centres, Hong Kong has a great investment potential and is home to a number of successful firms that may establish themselves in Slovakia in sectors generating a higher added value. In light of the experience of several major companies from the Southeast Asia region, I am convinced that such investments would be mutually very rewarding.

As a member of the European Union, what’s Slovakia’s position on the bailout of EU members such as Greece? For Slovakia it was very positive to enter the EU. The fact is that the European common currency makes it easier to do business in Slovakia. I believe the euro will stabilise and will remain the common currency. Authorities are doing their utmost to stabilise the euro, but the euro needs discipline from all members of the Eurozone, to accept the Maastricht Treaty, by following the same conditions and responsibilities for all EU countries.

Greece has not been very responsible with its economy. They have made some irresponsible decision and there was also a lack of control on the part of the EU, which led to this situation.

Slovakia didn’t really deny help, but we don’t agree with everything. Slovakia is also a very fast-developing country. But we were finding ways to balance the economy in order not to overheat or slow down the economy. For example, Slovak pensioners are receiving four times less in terms of benefits than Greek pensioners. Greece’s civil servants are paid 10 times more than their Slovak counterparts. We’ve balanced the budget to comply with the Maastricht Treaty. Greece didn’t pay attention to these things and overstepped all these criteria. We have less money than Greece, but we are doing it economically and we’re able to help those with more money, so that’s why we say it’s not a good idea.
We told the EU to impose some conditions on Greece. We’re willing to help them, but we should be assured that they won’t waste money again.

How do you think countries should respond to continuing uncertainty about the global economy? The economic crisis is a global problem and I don’t believe that any country could resolve this problem without cooperating with other countries. Every country should cooperate according to the ability of its economy. I can compare it to my trip to Hong Kong. We would recover more quickly if we have more cooperation with a developed economy like Hong Kong.

"The Knights of the Cross with the Red Star are a religious order originating from Bohemia and devoted mainly to offering medical care. Throughout its history it was accustomed to the use of arms, a custom which was confirmed in 1292 by an ambassador of Pope Nicholas IV. The grand master is still invested with a sword at his induction into office, and the congregation has been recognized as a military order by Popes Clement X and Innocent XII, as well as by several Holy Roman Emperors.

The order is first found in Bohemia as a fraternity attached to a hospital at Prague under a community of Clarisses, established by Princess Agnes, daughter of Przemysl Ottocar I and Queen Constantia, in 1233. In 1235 the hospital was richly endowed by the queen with property formerly belonging to the German order, a gift confirmed by Pope Gregory IX (May 18, 1236), who stipulated that the revenues should be divided with the Clarisse monastery."

Kreuzherren Palais in Vienna

Many little known but fascinating edifices can be found in Vienna besides the typical landmark buildings that draw most tourist crowds. One of these small treasures is the palais (actually the Provinzialatshaus, meaning the provincial seat) of the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star (Kreuzherren mit dem Roten Stern) right behind St.Charles Cathedral (Karlskirche).

History of the Kreuzherren Order [O.M.C.R.S. Ordo Militaris Crucigerorum cum Rubea Stella]

Kreuzherren Coat of Arms
The Knights of the Cross with the Red Star are a religious order originating from Bohemia and devoted mainly to offering medical care.

In 1235 the hospital was richly endowed by the queen with property formerly belonging to the German order, a gift confirmed by Pope Gregory IX (May 18, 1236), who stipulated that the revenues should be divided with the Clarisse monastery.

Provinzialatshaus Entrance
The order, which by 1253 had extensive possessions in Bohemia, soon spread to neighboring lands. The Breslau house in particular was the center of many other foundations. It is Bohemia, in an especial manner, to which the knights have rendered incalculable services. Their success in hospital work is evidenced by the rapidity with which their houses multiplied, and the frequent testimony borne to it in documents of kings and emperors.

At the present time, besides the motherhouse at Prague, there are about 26 incorporated parishes, and 85 professed members, several of whom are engaged in gymnasia and the University of Prague. There are benefices at Hadrisk, Vienna, where the order has been established since the thirteenth century, Eger, Briix, and Schaab.

The Kreuzherren Palais in Vienna

Provinzialatshaus Decoration
Located right behind St.Charles Cathedral (Karlskirche) at Kreuzherrengasse 1 (just off Karlsplatz), the palais was planned and constructed in 1897/1898 by the Austrian architect Karl Mayreder (1856-1935) together with his brother Julius Mayreder.

Karl Mayreder, at this time dean of the technical university in Vienna as well as chief architect of the influential municipalStadtregulierungsburo, was strongly influenced by the Austrian baroque style which was en vogue at that time.

This style combined the ambition to construct splendiferous edifices with national and romantic elements that supported the by then very popular historic and patriotic artistic taste.

In the case of this palais, constucted as a massive apartment building that stands in close connection to the adjacent Karlskirche, the baroque motives by Fischer von Erlach (who constucted this church 1716-1737) were obviously taken as a prototype.

This fact can be seen from the rich arrangement of the building front and in particular from the centrally located large pediment decorated by figurines and ornaments above the main entrance.

Locating the Kreuzherren Palais

See the aerial view of the Karlsplatz just south of the city center:

Standing in front of Karlskirche (1) at the water basin, you will see the Technical University of Vienna (2) to your right and the Vienna Metropolitan Museum (Wien Museum) to your left (3).
To locate the Kreuzherren Palais (4), keep to the right side of the church on Argentinierstrasse and turn into Kreuzherrengasse, the first small street to the left behind the church.

We hope you enjoy the visit on this site and your time in Vienna!
