South African Minister: Palestinian Map like Apartheid Bantustans
Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, South Africa’s foreign minister, said last Friday while speaking at a Congress of South Africa’s largest trade union, addressing by a group campaigning for the release of all Palestinian political prisoners: “Ministers of South Africa do not visit Israel currently. We have agreed to slow down and curtail senior leadership contact with that Israeli regime until things begin to look better”.
She compared the map of Palestine (meaning the occupied West Bank) to the apartheid-era Bantustans. The Congress ofSouth African Trade Unionssupports a boycott of Israeli products and has in the past accused Israel of practicing apartheid.
“The struggle of the people of Palestine is our struggle”. She added: “South Africa has decided to slow down and curtail senior leadership contact with the Israeli regime until things begin to look better”.
“Our Palestinian friends have never asked us to disengage with Israel through cutting diplomatic relations. They had asked us in formal meetings to not engage with the regime”.
“Ministers of South Africa do not visit Israel currently. Even the Jewish Board of Deputies that we engage with here, they know why our ministers are not going to Israel,” she added.
South Africa on Friday criticized Israel’s plans, announced on Tuesday, to build at least 5,000 new settlement units including some beyond the security barrier, according to reports.
Nkoana-Mashabane said: “The last time I looked at the map of Palestine, I could not go to sleep. It is just dots, smaller than those of the homelands, and that broke my heart”, referring to the Bantustans that existed in South Africa during the apartheid era.
Bonjour Madam Salam,
ReplyDeleteRight is right and wrong is wrong, it doesn't change, whether South Africa or Parchman Farms in the southern United States or de facto segregated neighborhoods in the northern United States - or Palestine.
Palestine belongs to the Palestinians and no amount of Antichrist, Dajjal, ZioNazi garbage or quisling submission to any of that will change the truth.
Just as South Africa cried for the beloved country, so cry for freedom and justice for Palestine! The voices cry from many places but the cry is the same!
God hears the cry!!
