Shoes On Display to protest Obama Visit

In Bethlehem, the American flags raised by the Palestinian Authority to greet President Obama were torn down by Palestinian youths in the early hours at the morning of Friday March 22 2013. Instead, the youths replaced the flags with old shows (a sign of disrespect) all along the route where the procession of President Obama was supposed to pass on its way to the Place of Birth of Jesus at the Church of the Nativity, which today is behind the jewish Apartheid wall in the occupied West Bank.

The US flags were burnt. More US flags, placed on electricity poles along the main route Bethlehem-Hebron were burnt in protest of the visit of the U.S. President.
At Al-Duheisha refugee camp near Bethlehem, hundreds of Palestinians demonstrated against the US President Obama’s visit to the city.

Protesters chanted slogans against US foreign policy and President Obama, raising pictures of late Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez and Abu Ali Mustafa, who was the Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine until he was assassinated by Israel in 2001.
In Ramallah, hundreds of Palestinian protesters, who represent the majority of Palestinians who reject the visit of US President Barack Obama, passed through the first human barrier of Palestinian police in the streets meant to prevent the public movement of Palestinians during the short visit of Obama to the PA headquarters.

The protesters raised signs against the visit and chanted “Obama represents Israeli policy”, “USA is the poison head of the serpent”, “What a shame, what a shame, they sold their homeland for a dollar”.  Palestinians said that President Obama shows us that he supports Israel and is not interested in what is going on with the Palestinian nation

Earlier, more US flags were torn down and burnt in Ramallah city. Several Palestinians were captured by the PA police in both Ramallah and Bethlehem because of expressing their protest against the Obama visit. Twenty-six minutes of Obama marked his second visit to Bethlehem Nativity Church in the occupied West Bank. At the Nativity Church, Obama ducked to enter through its small Door of Humility. Manger Square, the plaza in front of the church, was almost deserted except for security personnel.
